The PossAbilities Xtreme Team offers players of all ages and abilities the opportunity to participate in both baseball and flag football. The team includes athletes with a variety of physical, mental, and developmental disabilities. For example, some athletes have adaptive equipment, including walkers, wheelchairs, and prosthetic limbs.
The team introduces its players to the basics of the sports in a participation-centered, non-competitive environment. Everyone gets the chance to play, and accommodations are made to allow each athlete to participate and be successful.
Xtreme Team Baseball is operated in partnership with Redlands Baseball for Youth (RBY). The season begins in March and ends in June.
Xtreme Team Flag Football is operated in partnership with Junior All-American Football (JAAF). The season begins in September and ends in December.
Xtreme Team often interacts with players from traditional RBY or JAAF teams, as well as community groups, such a fraternities and church groups. These interactions are equally meaningful to our athletes as well as those who choose to spend their time with us.
While team activities take place at Community Field in Redlands, the team welcomes players from the surrounding area as well. Games are typically held on Saturday mornings.
Xtreme Team players are asked to register as a member of PossAbilities as a requirement, which allows them to play free of cost and to receive a jersey.
If you are interested in joining Xtreme Team, or are a part of a group that would like to be a scrimmage opponent, please contact Xtreme Team Manager Joy Darcy at firstname.lastname@example.org or visit our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/XtremeTeamRedlands/
