Tempe Triathlon AZ: Sucess!

Hello friends and family of Team PossAbilities! In late September I had an important event in Lake Tempe, AZ, part of the National Circuit of Parathriatlon. I felt really good when I checked in for the Race the day before because my number was 805 – the area code from where I live! What are the chances that out of 1300 athletes I would get be #805?!
Arizona is sooo hot and dry, it makes it difficult to race in that weather, it’s like your always dry on your throat, doesn’t matter how much fluids you take! But Race day greeted us with some clouds cover, perfect for going all out on a race – rather than having a devilish sun… Swimming was great, warm water and not having the sun directly in your eyes (like it would have been at 7am on that particular place) really made a difference! The cycling part was a breeze and running was one of my best ever, so far, even though it was under a punishing heat.
The final result was a 2nd place finish in my category, which made me happy but it’s not something to brag about –the top guys didn’t show up, since they had just finished the worlds in London. But I’ll take a 2nd place finish any day! Thank you for reading my friends:)
